Breviceratops was a small member of the horned dinosaur family, closely
related to Protoceratops Like its
relative, it lived in China and would have browsed the dry Cretaceous land for
low-growing plants. It is another example of the development of the ceratopsian
family in Asia.
Originally
assigned to
Protoceratops
there is still
discussion as to
whether this
specimen
deserves its own
genus. It may
eventually be
reassigned to
Bagaceratops. |
