Maleevosaurus was a small member of the tyrannosaur family. In fact, some scientists think that it was a young Tyrannosaurusbataar. Whatever its name, it would have been pretty scary. It was a fast meat-eater that had powerful jaws and strong legs for running down its prey.
Discussion continues as to how this dinosaur should be classified. The most recent study strongly suggests that it deserves its own genus based on careful study of Tyrannosaurusbataar's growth patterns. Indications are that Maleevosaurus is actually a full-grown animal, not a juvenile. |
